Lainy brings nine years of experience in active transportation, multimodal mobility, and public transit planning. With a strong commitment to creating sustainable and people-centred transportation networks, she is an aspiring Professional Transportation Planner (PTP) who thrives on helping communities shift toward walking, cycling, and transit.
Lainy holds a Master of Community Planning from Vancouver Island University, along with a Bachelor of Political Science and a Certificate in Local Government Administration from the University of Northern British Columbia. Before joining WATT, she served as Superintendent of Transit Planning and Scheduling with the Regional District of Nanaimo, where she advanced service expansion and accessibility initiatives across the region. She is currently leading the Active Transportation Plan for the District of Lantzville, integrating innovative mobility strategies that maintain the community’s rural character while enhancing connectivity. Passionate about building healthier, low-emission communities, Lainy is inspired by the opportunity to support clients nationwide through thoughtful, practical solutions that improve how people move and connect.
Outside of work, she enjoys exploring Vancouver Island’s mountains, staying active, and spending time with her two dogs and loved ones.
