WATT is a seeking a Land Development Civil Technologist to join our team in our Calgary office. We are looking for a dynamic individual that are committed to high-quality professional work, meeting the needs of our clients, and working with our multi-disciplinary team to create vibrant and livable communities.

About the Role

As a Civil Engineering Technologist of the Civil Engineering Division, your primary role will be to provide technical support to the project managers, engineers and other professionals of the civil engineering group team. Our hybrid work environment allows us to have some workdays at the office and some at home on a weekly basis.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or Engineering and Drafting Technology.
  • Registered or eligible for registration with ASET.
  • 5+ years’ experience in the civil engineering discipline with focus on land development, subdivisions and private sites work.
  • Proficiency using Civil 3D and AutoCAD software is essential.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of drafting and engineering principles is required.
  • Strong presentation, verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent technical skills and attention to details.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with project managers, engineers and technologist on the design of different land development and infrastructure projects.
  • Work as part of a team to produce engineering drawings, including block profiles, Development Site Servicing Plans (DSSPs), site grading plans using AutoCAD and Civil 3D, for land development and infrastructure projects in accordance with the Municipalities’ requirements and specifications.
  • Ability to work independently with very minimal supervision
  • Assist with meeting deadlines.
  • Support with obtaining approvals.
