New Funding Opportunity for Climate-Resilient Projects in Smaller Communities

Looking to access new funding to prepare your smaller community for the future? WATT is here to help!

WATT Consulting Group is excited to be a registered expert with the Climate Ready Infrastructure Service (CRIS), a national program supporting the integration of low-carbon resilience into infrastructure projects. Through this service, local governments and communities gain access to expert guidance and funding to tackle the challenges of climate change and help build long-term sustainability.

  • Who’s eligible? Communities of 30,000 people or less, including municipalities, First Nations, and Indigenous communities.
  • What’s covered? Up to $20,000 of fully-funded consultation services for a range of housing and infrastructure projects.

“We’re proud to be part of this program and help communities adapt and prepare for climate challenges,” says WATT President & CEO Bruce Nelligan. “It’s a great opportunity for communities to move forward with their climate projects by receiving capacity and funding support, and WATT can assist in a variety of ways.”

As a multi-disciplinary engineering and planning firm, WATT offers expertise in the fields of transportation, civil engineering, surveying, and geotechnical services. Some of the ways we can help include planning for new walking, cycling, transit, or electric vehicle amenities, storm water management, assessing slope stability, surveying waterway changes, and planning for solar and wind energy. We have been working with small to mid-sized communities for over 40 years, and are committed to providing collaborative, tailored solutions that address each client’s unique needs.
