Sophie Eckard

Transportation Planner

Sophie is a Transportation Planner with expertise in transit, active transportation, and parking demand analysis. Sophie is passionate about helping build environmentally and socially sustainable communities, connecting people to their needs through more transportation choice, and learning from the unique perspectives of every community she works with. She values WATT’s collaborative environment, where she’s continually inspired by the opportunity to learn, grow, and make a positive impact.

She holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Service Management from the University of Victoria and spent a semester abroad in Copenhagen, where she studied and experienced one of the world’s best transportation systems. Sophie has also completed training through the International Association of Public Participation (IAP2) and in Gender-Based Analysis Plus (GBA+).

Outside of work, Sophie enjoys hiking, biking, and camping, along with exploring her creativity through art and DIY projects.
