Filippos is an urban planner passionate about sustainable, resilient urban development that promotes vibrant communities and economic growth. His career goal is to use his passion, education, and experience to help revitalize cities, and to find innovative plans for effective, accessible transport and the reuse of neglected or underutilized infrastructure – to create multi-purpose sustainable environments, which are both enjoyable and convenient for people of all ages and abilities.
Filippos recently completed his second Masters at UBC’s School of Community and Regional Planning (SCARP), specializing in urban development and transportation planning. He has worked in many versatile roles at NGOs, think tanks, and the public sector, such as the City of Vancouver, the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) Greece, and the Hellenic Confederation of Commerce and Entrepreneurship. In these roles, he worked towards advocating sustainable development and transportation, and promoting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
In his spare time, Filippos enjoys playing all sorts of different sports, such as tennis, beach volleyball, soccer, cycling, and skiing. Filippos, as a European, is trying to embrace hockey!
