Project Coordinator /Junior Surveying Technologist

WATT Consulting Group (WATT) is seeking a Project Coordinator /Junior Surveying Technologist to join our Geomatics team.  We are looking for dynamic individuals that are committed to high-quality professional work, meeting the needs of our clients, and working with our multi-disciplinary team to create vibrant and livable communities.

ROLE:

Junior Surveying Technologist/ Project Coordinator is responsible for working closely with other technical staff to fulfill multiple organizational and quality control tasks.  In this role, you will work within our Geomatics New Home and General Construction divisions.  Your tasks will involve a combination of junior data checking and construction takeoff, combined with job setup, tracking, organization, and invoicing.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A university degree or technical diploma in a relevant discipline (e.g., surveying/geomatics engineering, surveying technology, civil engineering technology)
  • 3-5 years of related experience, preferably with portions gained in both the field at the party chief level and office at the junior technologist level.
  • Familiarity with surveying and engineering principles is required.
  • Experience in AutoCAD is essential (GIS, MicroSurvey, and/or database experience considered an asset)
  • An excellent understanding of the coordination between field survey, office computations and drafting and the importance of accurate and correct information.
  • Solid understanding of the principles of coordinate systems and mapping projections
  • Solid communications, motivation and leadership abilities must be demonstrated.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Job setup for all Division jobs. This involves data entry into Divisional and Corporate Database applications, such as Ajera, GDA, and Excel, as well as creating both physical and digital file folders.
  • Work directly with Resource Managers and peers to fulfill data checking and takeoff tasks as required.

 

  • Compiling completed signed and stamped Real Property Reports and Lot Grades from professional staff and processing for delivery including creating transmittals.
  • Quality Control – The successful candidate will assist resource managers in verifying field returns in a timely manner.
